This Chrysanthemum necklace has quickly become one of my favorites!  I love the combination of the chocolate upcycled vintage beads with the soft yellow flower.   So pretty.

 Another simple card using beautiful sparkly handmade paper, and an upcycled vintage button.  This beautiful button was in a collection that belonged to one of my good friends grandmother.  She recently received the button collection and I love the fact that she imediatly thought of me!

Osoyoos Lake get away

We recently spent 8 days at our cabin on Osoyoos Lake!  8 days with no cell phone, tv or internet.  Pure peace.  We spent a lot of time at the lake, rented a jet ski, read books, and played fetch with Roofus. 

This is at Blue Lake, a little lake hidden in the desert mountain.  My hubby went cliff jumping and poor Roofus was so upset.  I literaly had to hold on to his collar with both hands while he wimpered and shook with worry!  When I let him go he bolted down the trial to go rescue his master!  This is him swimming out to save him.

One of my favorite vacation activities is antiquing!  Justin on the other hand, not so much!  I can spend hours going from store to store finding the perfect unique treasure!  My hubby says all the stores have the same thing... junk!  Well I guess the saying is true, one man's junk is another's treasure!

This beautiful Osprey made it's home right in front of our cabin.  I knew there was a reason why this dead tree wasn't cut down!

Our family has always been boaters.  We practlically lived on the lake in the summer time!  (and we did wear live vests, just took them off for the pic!)

Our cute little red cabin!  Just looking at these pics makes me want to go again!  Maybe this weekend....

Love birds card

A simple card made with upcycled cardstock, scrap paper, and a sweet stamp.  I really love using bits and pieces of paper.  I usually throw most of my scraps away, but I think I'll start hording again!

Rouladen

Rouladen is my husband's favorite traditional German dish.  So I decided that I would attempt to make it, and of course share it with all of you!   This recipe works best if you buy beef in rouladen cuts.  There are many ways to make this Germain dish, but this is my mother in law's recipe.  I hope she doesn't mind me sharing!



Lay out the beef strips, lightly salt and pepper them.



Add chopped onions.

Add a strip of bacon (THE BEST PART!!!).

And roll!  Secure with a toothpick.  Pan fry over a medium heat to brown on all sides preheat oven to 350 degrees.  For the gravy combine 2 cans of mushroom soup with one package of onion soup mix.  Remove the toothpicks, place rouladen in a dish and pour gravy over them.  Cover and cook for 1 hour.   Serve with wild rice and asparagus for a DELICIOUS meal!
